With over 23 years, solid experience of helping survivors of domestic abuse, Staying Put are part of an exciting and innovative, multi-agency partnership working together with Family Action and Women Centre, to develop a ‘one system approach’ to families affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Domestic Abuse Support Worker – Various departments

About the role:
We are looking for Support Workers for our;
- Helpline – Full time, 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, £26,751 per annum
- Accommodation Team - 22.5 hours, 3 days, 9am to 5pm, £16,050 actual per annum
- Community Team – 30 hours, 4 days, 9am to 5pm, £21,400 actual per annum
Helpline (One Front Door)
Are you someone who has great listening skills and experience supporting vulnerable clients? We are looking for confident, but caring, candidates who can offer emotional support via our helpline to people experiencing domestic abuse?
Based in our Bradford office, this role will join our busy team who provide a high quality, proactive front door service and deliver a pathway of care focusing on immediate safety and initial support.
You will work as a member of the helpline team listening, providing emotional support and initial assessment of risk and needs to individuals who are experiencing domestic and/or sexual abuse (DSA). As part of the role you will assess individuals for, and refer on, within the partnership for the appropriate intervention identified.
We are looking for someone with a supportive background, who can confidently speak to people in distress. Do you have great listening skills and can gather information from people over the phone? We need someone who has a non-judgemental and empathic approach and is a great team player.You will need to be able to deal with changing priorities and use problem solving skills effectively. The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator both over the phone and able to write concise and accurate case notes. Experience of understanding safeguarding processes is essential as well as the ability to work as part of a team.

Accommodation Team
As a Domestic Abuse Support Worker in our passionate and supportive Accommodation Team, you will be supporting individuals and families living within our temporary supported accommodation. You will work in a trauma informed way, helping to create individual support packages to safeguard and reduce the risk of further harm and help clients achieve their individual goals. You will work with partner agencies in a collaborative way, ensuring a holistic think family approach. In this challenging but rewarding role will help individuals realise their true potential, helping clients to feel more empowered and confident in moving towards safe and independent living.
We are looking for someone with a history of with individuals who have experienced domestic abuse/sexual violence or a vulnerable client group, with complex/multiple needs. You will have sound working knowledge of safeguarding and MARAC processes and up-to-date knowledge of housing, welfare rights and civil/criminal proceedings to enable you to provide a robust package of support for clients.
We are looking for someone who has a can-do attitude and the passion and drive to help people gain confidence in their daily lives and feel empowered. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a patient and friendly approach, as well as being able to work on you own initiative and in partnership with colleagues and external agencies.
We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who speak a South Asian language, as this will help us provide the best care and service to our clients.

Community Team
Our Domestic Abuse Support Workers are a vital part of the Community team, as they provide a range of community-based support services for individuals who have experienced, or are currently experiencing domestic abuse, including those presenting with complex needs. This role sits within our Outreach team and provides a range of short term, community-based support services for women who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, domestic abuse and wish to stay in their own homes.
You will have a case load of clients to whom you will provide high quality and pro-active support, delivering a pathway of care which focusses on safety planning, safe accommodation, practical safety measures and use of the civil and criminal justice systems in order to increase protection and support the transition of women and children from violent situations into safe and independent living.
We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of supporting survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence or vulnerable clients. These roles require someone who is non-judgemental and empathic in their approach and who can communicate confidently with someone in distress. Our ideal candidates will have a proven track record of partnership working, with the skills to build and maintain positive relationships with partners and have experience and understanding of safeguarding processes.
